Allow me to introduce myself...

So here I am. I beginning a new chapter in my life. I'm 29 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weigh a porky 280 lbs. I have two goals. One, to lose 80 pounds and two, to become a runner. I have decided that going into my fourth decade of existence as a fat out of shape man isn't such a good idea. So I have decided to start training for my first 5k run which will be November 6th, 2005. This will help me accomplish my two goals...Hopefully. I have vowed to stay away from Fast Food for the next year and to eat healthy foods. I am also committed to run a minimum of 3 days a week and 4 days a week whenever possible. I have currently been running for 3 weeks and have just started running 2 miles a day. I started off with just 1.5 miles, but by week 2 felt that and extra .5 miles wasn't asking too much of my body. I will update this blog daily to keep you up to date on my training and my emotional status during the journey from a couch potato to a runner.
